Governance Workshop for Your Community
Best Practices Workshop for Volunteer Board Members
Purpose
The governance models that guide effective boards are rooted in well-established principles. Yet few board members receive formal training in the theory and practice of board governance, leaving a significant knowledge gap. Workshops designed to teach these principles empower board members, leading to boards that are more effective and better equipped to realize the organization's vision. When board members are trained, organizations are better able to fulfill the enterprise’s mission with greater impact and a more rewarding board experience for those who serve. By investing in governance education, these organizations foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Offered to all board members within a community, this workshop bridges that knowledge gap and help all nonprofits perform at a higher level.

This leader leveraged her influence to unite the region's nonprofits under a common goal—strengthening the local nonprofit network and building community across sectors by offering a Board Governance Best Practices workshop.
